With Offshore West Africa 2013 being held in Ghana, most international attendees will require a Visa to enter the Country. With this in mind please see below some information regarding this.

VISA Application
Entry Requirements for Ghana
1. All visitors to Ghana must be in possession of a valid passport or legal travel documents.
2. All visitors entering Ghana must have valid entry visas or, in the case of Commonwealth nationals, entry permits, issued by a Ghana diplomatic mission or consulate abroad or any other visa issuing authority mandated by the Ghana Government to act on its behalf . (ECOWAS nationals and those of other countries with which the Government of Ghana has specific bilateral agreements, are exempted).
Conditions for the Issue of Visa
1. Visas may be granted to personnel of international organisations and visitors to Ghana for tourism, study, business or transit.
2. The visa may be granted for single or multiple entry.
3. Visas are valid for a period of three months and must be utilised within three months of the date of issue. Visas valid for up to one year may be granted for specific purposes.
4. Visitors travelling on business are required to furnish evidence of the fact, such as a letter from their firm, while those travelling at the invitation of Ghanaian nationals or residence or Ghanaian institutions should furnish a letter of invitation from their hosts.
5. Visitors must have a return or a through ticket to a country which they have the right of admission or may be required to show evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of their stay in the country. Prospective employees may undertake employment within the authorised immigrant quota. Emergency visas may be issued at entry points to travellers who arrive from a country where there is no Ghanaian diplomatic or consular representation, but such applications must be authorised by the Director of the Immigration Service through their sponsors before they arrive Ghana.
6. Applications for further extension extensions to visitors' permit must be made to the Director of the Ghana Immigration Service for consideration. Tourists may be allowed a period of stay of three months if the Ghana Immigration Service is satisfied that such tourists have sufficient means of financial support.
7. Persons who enter the country as visitors are not permitted to take up employment even if there happens to be a vacancy on the Immigrant Quota of a prospective employer.
8. Professionals (doctors, lawyers, nurses, etc), are required to provide particulars of their qualifications in order that the eligibility of their registration may be determined.
Travellers are strongly advised to ensure that they have all the necessary documents before arriving in Ghana.
Visa Application Form - This can be gained from your local Embassy
1. The Visa Application Form must be completed in Duplicate and capital letters
2. The completed form must be submitted with the applicants Passport and two (2) recent passport-size pictures
3. It takes a minimum of four (4) working days to process an application submitted at the counter and ten (10) working days for postal applications
4. Applicants applying by post should provide a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (Recorded Postal Service is highly recommended).
Exempted Countries
Under Section 3 (Exemptions) of the Ghana Visa Regulations, the following countries and category of persons are exempted from entry visas to Ghana:
1. Citizens of ECOWAS countries
2. Nationals of the following countries - Kenya - Zimbabwe - Egypt - Singapore - Hong Kong specialised Administrative Area - Mauritius
3. Holders of Cuban Diplomatic Passport
4. Holders of German Diplomatic and Service Passport for a period not exceeding three (3) months
5. Holders of Passports of Regional Economic Communities in Africa and the African Economic Community
Nationals of the following Commonwealth East and Southern African countries may obtain Ghana Entry Visas from Missions/Consulates abroad or may obtain Visas at the point of Entry in Ghana. These include:
1. Malawi
2. Swaziland
3. Tanzania
4. Zambia
5. Lesotho
6. Uganda
7. Botswana
8. Persons in direct airside transit
