The Advisory Board of Offshore West Africa is now accepting abstracts for the 2014 Conference and we invite you to submit an abstract for Offshore West Africa 2014 and share your knowledge, experience and solutions with industry colleagues from around the world.

To have your presentation considered for the technical session programme, please submit your 150 - 300 word abstract on one or more of the technical focus areas listed by 28 May 2013.

2013 CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

Under the Patronage of the Ministry of Energy, Republic of Ghana, and Endorsed by the Petroleum Commission Ghana, the 17th annual Offshore West Africa once again addressed key technological and developmental issues for the West African offshore oil and gas market, through a comprehensive educational program and three-day exhibition, under the theme – Deepwater Discoveries, Emerging Opportunities.

Hosted by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), the 17th Offshore West Africa got under way on Tuesday 19th March, with the Opening Plenary Session, in front of over 350 people inside the International Conference Centre, Congress Hall. This included welcomes from speakers such as The Honourable Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Ghana;  Michael N.A. Aryeetey, Deputy Leader of GNPC New Ventures – Representing Mr. Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye, CEO, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation; Mr. Theo Ahwireng, Geophysics Manager, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation; Dr. Juliette Twumasi-Anokye, Petroleum Commission, Ghana; and Mr. Gilbert Yevi, Asset Manager, Tullow Oil, Ghana.

The Offshore West Africa 2013 Exhibition was officially opened with the Ribbon Cutting by Mr. Theo Ahwireng, Geophysics Manager, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation; Mr. Isa Inuwa, Chief Compliance Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation; and Mr. David Paganie, Chief Editor, Offshore magazine, PennWell Corporation, and was followed by the Offshore West Africa Opening Debate, in front over more than 180 people. Chaired by Mr. Toyin Akinosho, Africa Oil and Gas Report and Mr. Theo Ahwireng, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, this debate included contributions from Prof. Wumi Iledare, Louisiana State University, Mr. Rolando Gachter, IPA, and Mr. Bogomolov Pavel Vladimirovich, LUKOIL.

Over the 2 and a half days, Offshore West Africa 2013 delivered a high quality conference program with over 45 leading speakers including further presentations from GNPC, NNPC, Tullow Oil, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, TOTAL, DNV, SNEPCo, ENI, ExxonMobil, Wood Group, Technip and many more, covering a range of subjects from Well Construction & Drilling Operations to Local Content.

OFFSHORE WEST AFRICA 2013 HIGHLIGHTS

 

The 17th annual Offshore West Africa Conference and Exhibition returned to Accra, Ghana this year, and was held at the International Conference Centre from 19-21 March 2013. As the region’s premier conference and exhibition for the offshore oil and gas exploration & production industries, Offshore West Africa attracted over 1,200 visitors and delegates from over 35 countries around the world, making Offshore West Africa 2013 one of the most successful in it’s 17 year history. 

Attendees to Offshore West Africa 2013, the region’s premier conference and exhibition for the offshore oil and gas exploration & production industries, included many major operators, with over 20% of attendees coming from outside of the West African region. The international reach of Offshore West Africa is confirmed with attendees from as far afield as Brazil, Singapore, US and Canada, as well as good support from the UK and mainland Europe.
